A cute Kimono wearing little lady!
Ever since I moved to Japan and found out that my friends, Jenifer and Josh had a little girl, I wanted to buy a kimono for her. Mackenzie finally got big enough to fit in the smallest size, so I figured now is the time to buy one. Here is a link to see her in her adorable purple and pink kimono, which happens to be my favorite two colors. Love and miss you guys tons.

16 week check-up
I went for my 16 week check-up today. At this check-up, Josh and I were told about two optional testings that we can have done. One is for cystic fibrosis and the other is to detect chromosomal defects. We opted to have both tests done because if there is any chances, we would have to be flown to another base for the labor & delivery so there would be adequate equipment there that they do not have here. This is just to keep you all informed of what is going on. On a better note....
The baby had a healthy heartbeat of 150 bpm. Since I was first weighed until now, I have gained a total of 10 pounds! I looked up the numbers on a pregnancy weight calculator and I am right where I am supposed to be at 16 weeks, so it looks like I am doing good too. However, I don't know how much longer I can go with holding back from eating the entire pantry, but I am trying. :)
Cravings: Cake, brownies, cookies, chips, pickles, and chinese food. Specifically, beef and broccoli from the chinese places in the states. How do I satisfy that craving when I can't get it in Japan? I want it so bad!!!!!!! Or as I tell Josh, the baby wants it. ;)
Food adversions: For some reason, I am starting to not want chicken. I have been picking it out of my food and I normally love chicken. Not sure why this is...oh geez, I just realized I pre-ordered chicken for my meal Friday night at the Airforce ball...uh oh!
With that being said, the Airforce ball is Friday, in two days. I am excited it is coming soon this year because any longer and I would be having to add material to my dress. I will post pics sometime after.
Okay, so to end my update, we have an ultrasound scheduled on 29 Oct 2009. They do not tell us the sex of the baby on base, so we will have to go off base sometime after this appointment to find out. I have been looking online to see how to determine the gender, so maybe I can get a peak on my own and have a little idea before we are 100% sure.
Ta Ta for now!
